Overview

Planned and executed the migration of 200+ company workstations from Windows 10 to Windows 11 ahead of end-of-support, across multiple departments and office locations.

Problem

Windows 10 end-of-life was approaching, hardware compatibility varied widely across the fleet, and the business could not tolerate downtime during business hours or loss of user data.

My Role

Sole engineer responsible for compatibility auditing, migration planning, imaging, rollout scheduling, and post-migration support.

Overview

Led a full physical overall of the primary server room: old UPS replacement, new switch and router installation, and a ground-up rack reorganization.

Problem

The existing UPS was end-of-life with degraded battery health, cable runs were undocumented and tangled, and rack space was poorly allocated, making maintenance slow and risky.

My Role

Planned the overhaul, coordinated with vendor and Windows installation , and performed the physical rack, power, and cabling work.

Mapped every existing connection before replacing hardware, sourced a replacement UPS sized for projected 3-year load growth, and staged new switches/routers before a scheduled maintenance window.

Executed the UPS swap with a temporary bypass to avoid downtime, re-terminated and labeled all cabling to a consistent standard, and re-mounted equipment by function (power, core network, patch panels) for faster future maintenance.

Deployed a company-wide Cisco IP phone system to replace an aging analog line setup, covering handset installation, VLAN configuration, and call routing.

Problem

Analog lines were costly to maintain, offered no unified directory or voicemail-to-email, and couldn't scale as headcount grew.

Handled physical installation, network configuration (voice VLANs, PoE budgeting), and end-user handset provisioning.

Configured auto-provisioning so new handsets pulled their config on first boot, drastically cutting per-device setup time, and validated call quality under load before decommissioning analog lines.

Ran a full structured cabling project across office floors, replacing ad-hoc cable runs with labeled, patch-panel-terminated infrastructure.

Problem

Years of incremental changes had left cable runs undocumented, unlabeled, and in some cases run through unsafe paths, making troubleshooting slow and risky.

My Role

Surveyed existing cable plant, designed the new patch panel and labeling scheme, and executed re-termination floor by floor.

Traced and tested every existing run, retired dead cabling, and re-ran new Cat6 where paths were unsafe or undocumented. Built a consistent labeling convention tied to a patch panel map.

Problem

There was no reliable record of who had which device, warranty status, or purchase history, making budgeting, audits, and offboarding needlessly slow.

My Role

Designed the asset tracking process and tagging system, performed a full physical inventory audit, and liaised with hardware vendors on procurement and RMA.

CNN-Based Avocado Ripeness Classification System

Developed an automated ripeness classification system for avocados using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). Applied data augmentation and transfer learning to improve accuracy, enabling real-time food quality inspection automation.

Background

This research aimed to solve the difficulty consumers face in determining avocado ripeness in supermarkets by developing an image-based classification model, replacing traditional assessments based on the tactile experience of skilled workers.

Methodology

Built a CNN-based model and trained it on around 2,600 avocado images that I captured myself, enabling that I trained model to learn color, texture, and shape features. All images were captured using a standard iPhone camera under controlled white-light.

OCR-Based Expiration Date Recognition System

Developed an automated system to recognize and extract expiration dates from food packaging using OCR technology. Designed a preprocessing pipeline that operates reliably under varying fonts, angles, and lighting conditions, applicable to food distribution logistics automation.

Stair Fall Warning System for Wheelchair Users

Developed an AI-based stair fall warning system for wheelchair users using YOLOv5 and Intel RealSense depth camera to detect downward stairs in real time. Built a custom depth-image dataset and optimized the model through channel pruning, reducing computational cost by 26.8% while maintaining 79.5% mAP. Implemented an FSM-based warning algorithm on NVIDIA Jetson Nano to provide reliable real-time alerts and enhance user safety.

Background

Wheelchair users often face difficulties recognizing stairs and obstacles due to their limited field of view, resulting in frequent accidents. To improve user safety, I developed a stair fall warning system that detects downward stairs and provides distance-based alerts to help prevent accidents.

Methodology

Built a real-time downward stair detection model using YOLOv5 trained on a custom depth-image dataset acquired with Intel RealSense D455. Optimized the model with channel pruning and implemented an FSM-based distance estimation algorithm to deliver accurate and efficient real-time fall warnings on NVIDIA Jetson Nano.
